Dr. Sanderson’s Top Tips For Staying Healthy in South Orlando FL During the Coronavirus

Now more than ever we all need to focus on our health and well being. Focus on what you can control and use the extra free time to invest in your health. We need to do everything possible to strengthen our immune system along with keeping our mental stress as low as possible. Here are some tips that I’m using to stay healthy in South Orlando FL during these crazy times.

Tips in South Orlando FL

  1. Exercise daily
    • Whether it’s a 10 minute walk around the neighborhood or an intense circuit training session - get the body moving.
    • You don’t need fancy equipment. Look into body weight exercises or use materials around the house for weights. Something as simple as 5 sets of body weight squats or push ups to failure can leave you sore for days.
    • Try something different like yoga or a new stretching routine.
  2. Limit screen time and laying around
    • Stay as active as possible. Try new hobbies or interact with loved ones instead of checking social media or the news every 5 min. Track your screen time on your phone to see where you’re at.
  3. Stay on schedule
    • Try to keep a productive daily routine.
    • Physically write out your goals for the day.
    • Try to go to sleep around the same time every night and try to get the appropriate amount of sleep.
  4. Keep stress as low as possible
    • Try medication or deep breathing techniques.
    • Daily exercise with some sunshine can help dramatically with this.
  5. Focus on your diet
    • Supporting your IMMUNE SYSTEM right now is VITAL!
    • Focus on a whole food diet. Limit sugar and excessive amount of alcohol/smoking.
    • Stay hydrated with water and avoid sugary drinks.
    • Limit processed and fast food as much as possible.
    • Try to avoid stress and boredom eating.
    • You might need to keep your daily calories lower since your probably not burning as much as you used to. Intermittent fasting can be a good choice for this.

Also, look into different supplements that can help support your immune system.

I’m currently taking:

  • Cataplex D (vitamin D)
  • Omega 3
  • Catayln (wholefood multivitamin)
  • CBD liquid (25mg) at night for sleep/stress/inflammation (functional remedies from my office)
  • Valerian Complex (herbal for stress)
  • Probiotics (for immune system and digestion)
  • Immuplex (complex for immune system)
  • Almost all supplements from Standard Process

Stay positive and hopeful. We will all get through this. This might be the wake up call that some people need to finally make their health a priority. We can’t always avoid getting sick but we can make changes to our lifestyle to help decrease our changes dramatically!
